2. Product Overview
This plug-in module is directly inserted into the rear interface slot of Relion 540 IEDs without extra wiring racks. Optional dual optical ports support simultaneous LON/SPA fiber communication with glass or plastic multimode fiber transceivers. It realizes real-time protection data transmission, disturbance recorder file upload, fault event reporting and remote parameter configuration via IEC 61850 GOOSE/MMS services.
The PCB adopts conformal coating for substation harsh environments, with full EMC surge and electrostatic protection complying with IEC 60255 standards. The product was officially discontinued by ABB after 2022 and is only supplied as maintenance spare parts for existing power plant and substation automation systems, certified with CE and cULus industrial safety standards .
